André Tourigny, MD, MBA

André Tourigny is a physician specializing in community health. He currently works as a physician at the Institut national de santé publique du Québec (Quebec Public Health Institute) and the Direction de santé publique de la Capitale Nationale (National Capital Public Health Directorate).

He is the Scientific Director of the Centre d’excellence sur le vieillissement de Québec (Quebec Centre of Excellence on Aging). He is also a full professor in the Department of Medicine at Université Laval and a researcher in the Unité de recherche sur le vieillissement (research on aging unit) of the Quebec City university hospital research centre. Additionally, he is the co-principal investigator for the CIHR Team on Frailty and Aging and for the PRISMA study. He was also involved in evaluating the implementation and effects of integrated services networks catering to frail older persons and SIGG: Système d'information géronto-gériatrique (gerontological-geriatric information system).

His current work focuses on healthy aging; the organization and evaluation of care and services for older clienteles; evaluation of the quality of care and services provided to vulnerable older persons; and the synthesis of evidence-based data.
