BIOGRAPHY

René Verreault, M.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Verreault is an epidemiologist and professor in the Department of Social and Preventive Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Université Laval and holds the chair in geriatrics at the Université de Laval. He is director of the Institut sur le vieillissement et la participation sociale des aînés, Université Laval and director of the research unit at the Centre d’excellence sur le vieillissement de Québec. He is also a clinician in geriatrics and palliative care at the Institut universitaire de cardiologie et de pneumologie de Québec.

His research interests include clinical and epidemiological research in the areas of aging, the epidemiology of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, clinical and evaluative research in long-term, palliative and end-of-life care.
